About Peter

Peter Mikhail is originally from London, England. He is a professionally trained theatre actor who graduated with honours from the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, London in 1999. In 2004, Peter moved to Toronto, Canada, to further develop his acting career. Peter completed his Masters degree in Fine Arts, MFA, and trained as a Voice and Speech Teach teacher receiving both his MFA and Voice teaching Diploma from York University in 2011.

Peter was trained under the direction of Professor David Smukler and Professor Eric Armstrong with the foundation of the Voice work based in the Kristin Linklater method. Peter apprenticed and assisted at Canada’s National Voice Intensive in Vancouver, British Colombia.

Peter has taught Acting Shakespeare and all the Voice and Speech courses offered at York University. Peter is the Course Director for Public Speaking at York University, Toronto and Associate Professor of Voice and Speech at Humber College in Toronto for the Acting for Film and Television program, AFTV. Peter has been involved in delivering workshops in voice and acting to the Canadian Children’s Opera Company, CCOC and continues to deliver and grow his practice of speech training workshops for the corporate market as well as private voice and acting coaching for professional actors.
